In 1980,  The Loyola News  merged with  The Georgian  to form a single student newspaper,  The Link .

The publication of the Georgian began in December 1936 as the official organ of the Students' Council of Sir George Williams College.   It  was at first a monthly publication and sold for five cents.   Eventually, the publication became a  twice weekly one.   The Georgian  merged with  The Loyola News  in 1980 to form a single student newspaper,  The Link .

The Concordian  was published by the Evening Students' Association of Concordia University from 1973 to 1976. It replaced  The paper , published by the Evening Students Association of Sir George Williams University from 1968 to 1973. The name  The Concordian  was revived in the 1980s when five individuals decided to start "an alternative student publication differing with the editorial policy and direction of The Link." (The Concordian, September 27, 1984)
