Manuscript. Calligraphy parchment. 5 lines per page, calligraphed on both sides, parchment paper. Fully vocalized elegant Qairawanī Kufic script. Contains 1 illuminated gilt heading panel with decorated ornament in green, gilt and blue end piece on the right side. Rubricated, written in dark brown ink, vocalization in red, green and blue. Calligraphic parchment contains the following Qur'ānic verses: sūra Fuṣṣilat (chapter 41: verses 53-54) and sūra al-Shūraʹ (chapter 42: verses 1-3) Calligraphed by 'Alī Ibn Aḥmad al-Warrāq. Calligraphed for the Fatimid King al-Ṣanhājiyyat in Qairawān. Placed in a silk covered cushion on one side and a loose silk guard sheet on the other side, cream colour strap leather to aid handling the parchment, external wooden frame box.
