From 16 January through 28 February 1991, the United States and it allies conducted one of the most operationally successful wars in history, a conflict in which air operations played a preeminent role. The Gulf War Air Power Survey was commissioned on 22 August 1991 to review all aspects of air warfare in the Persian Gulf for use by the United States Air Force. The Survey has produced reports on planning, the conduct of operations, the effects of the air campaign, command and control,...

The Systems Approach to Training (SAT) for the B-1 aircrew involves the transformation of task analysis data into complete and precise statements of all behaviors necessary to carry out the B-1 mission. The resulting behavioral objectives delineate the 'who, what, how, when and how well' of each definable behavior. A compilation of behavioral objectives for the pilot, copilot and offensive system operator is contained in this report, preceded by a brief description of the procedures for their...

Three computer programs were written with the objective of predicting the structural weight of aircraft through analytical methods. The first program, the structural weight estimation program (SWEEP), is a completely integrated program including routines for airloads, loads spectra, skin temperatures, material properties, flutter stiffness requirements, fatigue life, structural sizing, and for weight estimation of each of the major aircraft structural components. This volume (volume 6) contains...
