Taylor Library

Established in 1878 through a bequest from Harriet Taylor, the Taylor Library has given over 140 years of continuous service to the citizens of Derry, New Hampshire.

Established in 1878 through a bequest from Harriet Taylor, the Taylor Library has given over 140 years of continuous service to the citizens of Derry, New Hampshire.
From its early beginnings in the Upper Village Hall, the library has grown significantly from its 918 original volumes. In 1929, Fredrick Shepard Jr. gifted a new building to the town to provide a permanent home for the Taylor Library at 49 East Derry Road, where the library remains in service today. The Taylor Library is home to a rich heritage collection specific to New Hampshire and offers a multitude of services and resources to satisfy citizen's personal, professional, and education needs.
