The publication of the Georgian began in December 1936 as the official organ of the Students' Council of Sir George Williams College. It was at first a monthly publication and sold for five cents. Eventually, the publication became a twice weekly one. The Georgian merged with The Loyola News in 1980 to form a single student newspaper, The Link.
