I couldn't hate the new format more. Everything, from putting a show online, to listening to a show, to posting a song online, has become incredibly difficult. As a poster of 1150 shows, I strongly feel that you should scrap the new format and go back to the way it was!

Hi scoogy,

I'm glad you've taken the time out to try the new site, and we certainly don't want to make it harder for people to add content.

We haven't changed the upload process at all (except for page colors), so I'd like to get to the bottom of why you're having trouble posting a show.

Can you give me more information about what kinds of problems you've had with adding a show through the new interface?

Thanks,
Alexis

It would be great if the people in charge of the new site would come to taperssection.com and address the bulk of contributors to Archive's etree library directly. Create an account, and go to Taperchat. I have started a thread where it would be appropriate to publicly defend your changes and get some positive and negative feedback. TS.com is comprised of some of the smartest people in the world, much like I'm sure Archive.org is.

Among my problems is I can't select a year and then get it in order by date of the show. That was invaluable to me.

Hi scoogy,

Sorry, just saw this post was also from you.

You can still select a year and order the shows by date. I can write out how to do it, but it would probably be easier to watch the short tour video - I used a live music item as the example, and it does answer this exact question.

I think the new format is pretty good, but the default views just completely suck. Really. A new user gets treated to the view of 4 jambands "above the fold". "Grateful Dead". "Phil Lesh and Friends"."Disco Biscuits". "String Cheese Incident". I love at least 3 of these bands, but that's not the point. The new users, and everyone, should see, is the list of bands. Period, end of story. Then, when you click on a band, the default view should be "date published" which honestly is a stupid category. How about "date of show"? Considering that these are all "shows" and not "books". Making the number of views will only make it like your "most downloaded shows" item, which ended up giving some obscure show of Global Funk Council at some obscure coffee house millions of views, and OAR as the biggest thing ever (Ha!) You supposedly took suggestions from the "Beta" but not one thing changed. Can you PLEASE consider the possibility that this is not better than what you set out to improve?
